Having produced an impressive collection of mood-lifting house tracks and collaborated on releases with both established and underground house labels (including Gents & Dandy's, House Cookin', Inhale Exhale, Berlin House Music, Peppermint Jam, Supra House, Open Sound, Good4You and Heat Up), Deeleegenz has perfected his production skills over the years. This expertise led him to launch his own label, Housmose, in 2022, through which he has consistently released new tracks. While 2024 has seen just two digital releases and one remix from him, Deeleegenz has primarily focused on crafting 'Color Residues,' a 15-track double vinyl LP album.
The first six months were devoted to curating the album from unreleased vault tracks and new compositions. This meticulous process involved countless hours of arranging and rearranging the tracks to achieve the perfect musical flow while accounting for the technical constraints of a double 12" 33rpm vinyl (approximately 20 minutes per side).
The premasters were then entrusted to Rob Small, who delivered exceptional mastering work, bringing out subtle details and enriching the overall sound palette. With the masters ready, Matter Of Fact was chosen for a limited pressing of 200 copies. As production began, the focus shifted to the visual elements.
Sozyone, who had always encouraged me to release my music on vinyl, joined this journey by creating the stunning artwork. His distinctive bird designs now grace both the album cover and the labels of all four vinyl sides.
When the test pressings arrived, the sound quality and pressing excellence exceeded all expectations. Several weeks later, the first batch of the final product was delivered, bringing to life a vision I've carried for years. Every aspect of this project was crafted with genuine passion and dedication to the art form, avoiding unnecessary compromises.
January brought an unexpected delight: Matter Of Fact created five special edition copies featuring unique artistic treatments that seamlessly integrate with Sozyone's label designs, making each one a singular piece of art.
